<p>The joint is made between sections of site concrete being concreted, or prefab. concrete components being introduced, with reliable sealing from groundwater. It is esp. used for structures standing in groundwater. Between adjoining concrete sections (1) there is a cutout (3), drop-shaped in cross-section, divided into halves in the end faces on both sides, with its tip facing the inner part of the structure. An expansion joint (2) may be provided on the inside and outside between the converging parts of prefabricated pieces, and an inlay in the joint gap between concreting sections, to the outside. Only a single material, such as cast asphalt or tough mouldable plastics, needs to be inserted.</p> |
