PURPOSE:To obtain an optical mixer of simple constitution by disposing incident and exit fiber groups by leaving a distance at both ends of the space between a cylindrical pipe having a mirror surface on the inside surface and a cylindrical rod having a mirror surface on the side face and disposed at its center. CONSTITUTION:A circular cylindrical rod 8 of which the side surface is vapor- deposited with gold or the like to have a mirror surface is disposed coaxially to a cylindrical pipe 9 of which the inside surface is vapor-deposited with gold or the like to have a mirror surface, and an incident fiber group 1 and an exit fiber group 4 are disposed at both ends of the space therebetween by leaving a sufficient distance. The light out from the incident fibers 1 spreads circumferentially while repeating reflection diametrally on the rod 8 and the pipe 9, propagates in the axial direction of the fibers, is mixed and enters the respective exit fibers 4. Thereby, the mixer of the simple constitution is obtained. |
