PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the freedom in motor design and also, prevent torque from being generated in a motor by battery charge even when using a permanent magnet excitation type synchronous motor. SOLUTION: A switch SW1 is turned on or turned off at normal run, and the voltage of a battery 12 is boosted by a DC/DC converter 14, and it is applied between DC terminals of an inverter 16. When charging the battery 12 with an outside AC power source 28, the switch SW1 is turned on, and the switch SW2 is turned off, and the voltage voltage from the AC power source 28 is rectified and boosted with the DC/DC converter 14, and it is applied to the battery 12. At this time, the transistors S5-S10 of the inverter 16 are turned off to break off the electric connection on the side of a motor 10. |
