1523413 Preserving wood KEMIRA OY 25 Jan 1977 [26 Jan 1976] 02977/77 Heading A5E Wood is protected against dry rot or insects by impregnating with a solution of a preservative in a non-flammable organic solvent having a b.pt. of 30-100‹ C and after removing excess solvent drying by means of a hot liquid which dissolves the solvent and has a flash point above 55‹C. The solvent may be e.g. methylene dichloride. carbon tetrachloride or trichloroethylene, and the preservative may be e.g. copper phthalate, cooper naphthenate, tetrachlorophenol, heptachlor or lindane. The hot liquid may be alkyd resin, varnish or linseed oil. The wood may be subjected to an after treatment with e.g. acrylic latex, which may contain pigments. |
