PURPOSE:To develop an output voltage proportional to the (n)-th root of an input voltage by generating by a converting circuit a control current proportional to the (n)-th power of the output voltage of a variable gain amplifier and by varying the gain of the amplifier in inverse proportion to the control current. CONSTITUTION:Input voltage ei applied to input terminal 40 is applied to variable gain amplifier 45. So that output voltage e0 developed at output terminal 41 of amplifier 45 is in inverse proportion to the magnitude of DC current I1 sent out of HPF42 and root mean square RMS circuit 43, feeback impedance element 47, obtaining gain G in inverse proportion to feedback current I1. Thus, an output voltage generally proportional to the (n)-th root of the input voltage is generated. |
