PURPOSE:To prevent scattering of the magnetic developer at the time of recovering the same by making the intensity of magnetic field in the end part of a magnetic capturing means higher than the intensity of magnetic field in the image region. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning device is provided with a removing means consisting of a fur brush 5 which is disposed in opposition on an image holding body 2 and removes the toner 3, a magnetic capturing means consisting of a magnet roller 8 which magnetically captures the removed toner, and removing means consisting of a removing member 9 which removes the captured toner through regulating its amount captured by said magnetic capturing means. The toner scraped off by the removing member 9 is recovered into a recovering vessel 10. The magnetic capturing means consists of the magnetic roller 8 which is longer than the width of the image region, and the scattering of the toner in the end part is prevented by making the magnetic field in the end parts of the magnetic poles S1, N1 of the magnet of the magnet roller 8 stronger. |
