PURPOSE:To enhance the hydrophilic property and oxygen permeability of lenses by forming the lenses with an amino acid copolymer contg. methionine sulfoxide or methioninesulfone residues substituted for at least part of the methionine residues. CONSTITUTION:A film mede of amino acid copolymer contg. methionine and methionine sulfoxide or methioninesulfone residues substituted for at least part of the methionine residues is used as a substrate film, and one side or both sides of the film are treated with a hydrogen peroxide soln. to obtain soft contact lenses. The methionine content of the substrate film is 10-100, preferably 30-100mol%. The film is treated with the soln. adjusted to 1-30% concn. at 10-40 deg.C for 5-120min. |
