<p>A method and an apparatus for installing a gasket in the peripheral wall of an opening in a masonry wall, is disclosed. The gasket is positioned in a recess formed in the outer periphery of a flexible, resilient cylindrical mold. A rigid cylindrical member, having an outside diameter equal to the inside diameter of the flexible mold and a flange at one end, is inserted within the flexible mold to support the mold. The mold supporting member is secured to the external wall of the concrete form and tightened so as to compress one end of the flexible mold against said wall of the form and form a seal with such wall. The inner wall of the form is installed in sealing engagement with the other end of the mold. The space between the walls of the form is filled with concrete, so as to embed the entering portion of the gasket in the concrete. When the concrete is set, the form and the mold supporting member are removed and, finally, the flexible mold withdrawn so as to leave the sealing portion of the gasket which is not embedded in the concrete projecting into the space intended to receive a pipe.</p> |
