PURPOSE:To make easy the inspection of charge transfer efficiency, by linking the head bit of a shift register in a plurality of bits, with the associated bit related to a photoelectric conversion element via an auxiliary shift register in a suitable number of bit. CONSTITUTION:Photoelectric conversion is made by radiating light to the photoelectric conversion elements 9, 10 coupled with the photoreception section 1 and the associated bits 6, 8. The gate signal Vg is applied to the transfer gate 4. At the image pickup section A, the charge produced at the photo reception section 1 is shared into shift registers 2, 3. The charge produced at the element 9 is injected to the electrode (a) position where the clock pulse phia of the bit 6 is fed. The charge produced at the element 10 is injected to the electrode (b) position where the clock pulse phib is fed. The charge introduced to the bits 6, 8 is transferred to the registers 2, 3 via the auxiliary shift registers 5, 7 and picked up as the output signal from the end of the registers 2, 3. |
