PURPOSE:To perform an automatic wire bonding with a suitable relative relationship between a pellet and a lead by detecting the relative positional relationship therebetween, and calculating the bonding coordinates on the lead side so that the wire and the lead obtain suitable conditions. CONSTITUTION:The suitable positional range S of a lead is set as coordinates, provided that the suitable bonding area is the overlap portion S between areas B and C, when the area B is the suitable wire direction and the area C is the placed portion of depth more than d. The displacement amounts of a pellet 1 and a lead 3 are detected respectively in order to calculate the suitable lead bonding coordinates on the basis of the positional relationship therebetween and respective conditions, and after the bonding coordinates have been corrected from a position A to a position A'', they are bonded. When suitable conditions cannot be obtained, bonding is to be impossible. When the displacement amount of either of lead or the pellet is slight, only the other is detected to correct. By said constitution, excellent bonding can be performed independently of the dimensional accuracy. |
