PURPOSE:To produce a picture image having high resolution with low distortion of deflection, by providing a plurality of through holes arranged in plural rows in parallel along a linear hot cathode of an electron beam control electrode thereby making the space between the electrodes tight. CONSTITUTION:A picture image indicator is comprised of a plurality of linear hot cathodes 21, an electron beam take-out electrode 22, electron beam control electrodes 24 where the through holes are arranged in plural rows in parallel along the linear hot cathode 21, and vertical and horizontal deflection electrodes 25, 26 and an indicating means 27 facing each other in parallel. Since the through holes of the electron beam control electrode 24 are not arranged in single lateral row but obliquely in plural rows, the pitch can be shortened and the picture image indication with small electron beam deflection angle can be achieved resulting in a picture image of high resolution with reduced distortion of deflection. |
