<p>A beaker-shaped packaging container is made from deep-drawn plastics foil and is intended for liq., pasty or similar drinks or substances. The beaker has two outwardly bulging or convex longitudinal sides, two straight sides perpendicular to these and a general slight taper downwards from the top at least to a region near the bottom. The top is trimmed off by a flange generally square in plan to provide a fairly broad rim especially at the corners, the corners of the flange themselves being rounded. Pref. there is a short, straight length at the bottom of the truncated cone before the bottom is reached. The curved walls give to the beaker a barrel-shape, and provide a substantially increased volumetric capacity for a given size of rim.</p> |
