Assembly comprises an extruded thermoplastics or elastomer inner tube (2), an extruded thermoplastics or elastomer outer tube (8), with a gap between them at least in local regions, and a reinforcing, helical band (5) wound in this gap; this helical band (5) is encased all around in a further tube which is bonded both to the inner and to the outer tubes (2,8). Pref. the sheath or casing for this helical reinforcing band is of an elastically deformable material, esp. plasticised PVC. The reinforcing helix (5) is pref. slidable in this casing and nowhere bonded to it. The remainder of the annular gap (9) is free from other reinforcing elements. The hose has good flexibility and a long working life.
