<p>Process for prepn. of aromatic diester-diamines of formula MeOOC-Ar-CO-NH-AR'-NH-CO-Ar-COOMe (I) (where Ar and Ar' are divalent 5-20C aromatic radicals contg. 1 or more aromatic rings which may be fused together or joined to one another by a covalent C-C bond or by an atom or by a divalent gp. e.g. -O-, -S-, -SO2-, -CO-, -CONH- or by 1-5C alkylene) comprises reacting an aromatic dicarboxylic acid semi-ester of formula MeOOC-Ar-COOH (II) with an aromatic diisocyanate of formula OCN-AR'-NCO N222) in mol. ratio (II):(III) 2:1. (I) are starting materials in prepn. of sheet-, film- film-, fibre- or moulded article-forming polyester-amides and copolyester amides, softening at 120-300 degrees C and having high vitreous transition temps. by condensation with diols and opt. aromatic dicarboxylic acids. (I) cna be obtd. in high yields.</p> |
