X-RAY DETECTOR

Light detection units which comprise a photocathode, a semiconductor electron detector and an electron-optical system are associated with scintillation elements of an X-ray detector. In a preferred embodiment, a plurality (for example, 9 or 16) of these light detection units are accommodated together in a module. Preferably, the modules are constructed, possibly together with the associated scintillation elements, so that they can be readily linked to realize a multi-channel detector.
