PURPOSE:To reduce the internal resistance of a silver oxide battery without causing any decrease in the battery capacity, by using a positive electrode consisting of a mixture of silver oxide powder and nickel oxyhydroxide powder used as a conductive agent. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material layer 5 is placed within a positive can 2. The layer 5 is prepared by mixing silver oxide (Ag2O) powder and nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH), and molding the mixture. Here, the former NiOOH is mixed with the positive active material in a ratio by weight of 10-40pts. to 100pts. A negative active material layer 6 is placed within a negative can 3. The negative layer 6 and the positive layer 5 are placed opposite to one another, with a holding material 7 impregnated with electrolyte interposed between them. |
