PURPOSE:To block injection of holes into an electric charge generating layer, to improve injection of electrons, and to enhance electric chargeability and photosensitivity of an electrophotographic sensitive body by using a charge blocking layer composed of an electron attractive substance and an electron donative polymer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is a functionally separated type composed of 3 layers composed of the charge blocking layer made of the electron attractive substance and an electron donative polymer, and the charge generating layer, and a charge transfer layer. A charge transfer complex is formed by allowing the electron attractive substance to react with the electron donative polymer, and when the former is less than the latter, the charge blocking layer exhibits p-type semiconductivity but when the former is more than the latter, it exhibits n-type semiconductivity, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be blocked in injection of holes from a conductive supporting body, and enhanced in chargeability, improved in efficiency of injection of electrons generated in the charge generating layer to the conductive supporting body and consequently, increased in photosensitivity. |
