PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly record sound with optimum feeling of stereo and spreading in accordance with a sound source in a sound recorder. SOLUTION: This sound acquiring device includes single directional microphone units 21A and 21B, a recording medium 35 and switches 31A and 31B. The microphone units 21A and 21B are supported freely turnably by shafts at a front part of a recorder main body, and the directions of directional axes 22A and 22B of single directive first and second microphone units 21 and 21B are changeable in the same plane. The switches 31A and 31B are controlled in interlock with the turning of the microphone units 21A and 21B, and output audio signals of the microphone units 21A and 21B are recorded in the recording medium 35 by changing channels or without changing the channels between when the directional axes 22A and 22B of the microphone units 21A and 21B intersect and when they do not.
