PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project a video image within a screen. SOLUTION: A projector masks a shaded portion of an entire frame and projects each quadrant frame obtained by dividing the frame vertically and horizontally into four on a screen. In the first and second border lines formed when a predetermined quadrant frame (e.g., upper left quadrant frame) is sectioned by a shaded region and other region, the projector projects a predetermined quadrant frame by masking the shaded portion on the screen by using the positional information of first and second points (e.g. points P2 and P9) specifying the first border line and third and fourth points (e.g. points P1 and P10) specifying the second border line.
