PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an abnormal sound due to erroneous correction by setting a muting state when the counted number of continuously absent horizontal synchronizing signals reaches a certain value and by resetting the muting state a certain time after the continuous absense disappears. CONSTITUTION:In reproduction system P of the PCM reproducing device which uses VTR9 as a recording medium, muting circuit 18 is provided; when the number of error outputs of error detecting circuit 11 or the number of continuously absent horizontal synchronizing signals of recording control circuit 12 reaches a prescribed value, a muting signal is outputted from terminal 19 and an analog output signal is earthed to set a muting state. Then, the muting state is reset a prescribed time after the error outputs and the continuous absence of the horizontal synchronizing signals end. Thus, the generation of an abnormal sound and the outputting of erroneous data due to erroneous correction can be prevented and smooth resetting can be done, so that the invariably excellent reproduction state can be obtained. |
