PURPOSE:To increase the adhesion of the 1st undercoat of a photographic support having a hydrophobic surface to a silver saving photosensitive emulsion layer without deteriorating the photographic characteristics by forming the 2nd undercoat contg. one kind or more of two kinds of polymers each having specified repeating units on the 1st undercoat. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. a polymer having repeating units represented by formula I or II is formed as the 2nd undercoat on the 1st undercoat on a polymer support having a hydrophobic surface for a photographic sensitive material. In the formula, R is H, 1-6C alkyl or halogen, M is H, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an org. base, X is 1-6C alkyl, alkoxy, alkylamino or halogen, m is 0 or 1, n is 1 or 2; R' is H or alkyl, X' is H, halogen, NO2, CN, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylsulfonyl, aryloxy or acylamido, m' is 0 or 1 and n' is 1 or 2. Thus, the adhesion of the 1st undercoat to a silver saving emulsion layer for radiograph, etc. is enhanced even if the amount of a hardener in the layer is reduced. |
