PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive electrophotographic plate having superior mechanical and electrical characteristics by forming an electric charge generating layer with an electric charge generating substance and polycarbonate and applying a coating soln. contg. a solvent which does not dissolve said layer to coat a charge transferring layer. CONSTITUTION:On an electrically conductive support an electric charge generating layer is formed consisting of an org. charge generating substance such as monoazo, disazo or phthalocyanine pigment or an inorg. charge generating substance such as Se, Sb2S3 and polycarbonate. The amount of the polycarbonate contained is <=10pts.wt. to 1pt.wt. of the substance. A coating soln. is prepared by mixing a 1pt.wt. charge transferring substance such as triphenyloxazole or styryl dye base and a 0.5-10pts.wt. binder resin such as linear polyester or acrylic resin with a solvent which does not dissolve the charge generating layer. The soln. is then applied to the layer and dried to form a charge transferring layer. Thus, a photoreceptor having enhanced endurance is obtd. The characteristics are not deteriorated even by repeated use. |
