The wide-curve fish hook has the curved portion and the shank in the same plane, part at least (6) of the curved portion (3) being widened on the inside to form a roughly flat surface at right angles to the plane of the hook. This part of the curve can be of T-section, or triangular, the sides not at right angles to the plane of the hook being concave, while the corners of the triangle are radiused.
