The invention relates to a method of generating mechanical energy from waste heat as a downstream process in thermodynamic methods and cyclic processes which produce waste heat, the usable heat conversion being in the low temperature region (</= 250 DEG C). The object of the invention is to design a thermodynamic circulation process in such a way that low level waste heat can be used to produce energy by cooling to appreciably below 100 DEG C. The essence of the invention is to be seen in the fact that, in a cyclic process, a high-pressure working substance is released by desorption at high pressure, superheated, let down in a multistage bleeding turbine to produce work and dissolved again in the liquid solution, i.e. in the absorbent, by stepwise absorption. Fields of application of the invention are in all waste-heat producing processes, such as: - nuclear power plants embodying a high-temperature helium turbine process, - chemical plants, - drying processes, - processes which produce flue gas. <IMAGE>
