Positive electrode for alkaline electric battery and method for its manufacture

The positive electrode for an alkaline electric battery based on silver(II) oxide comprises, mixed with this oxide, 0.5 to 10 % by weight of at least one alkaline-earth metal oxide or hydroxide, or a mixture thereof. This electrode may be prepared by mixing mechanically, in the form of powders, the silver(II) oxide with the alkaline-earth metal oxide or hydroxide, or the mixture thereof. Such electrodes are applicable to any alkaline battery, in particular for sealed micro-cells intended amongst other things for watches and acoustic devices.
