<p>The gearchange linkage has the gear selector lever (1) pivoted in a universal joint (2) in the floor of the cab and with its bottom end linked to the gear selector rod (4). The same pivot is linked to a thrust lever (10) linked to a reaction lever (8) pivoted on the chassis, and assuming different settings as the cab is tipped. The linkage does not require any telescopic sections, with the reaction lever folding upwards to take up the increased spacing between the chassis and the floor of the cab, and without affecting the gear selector position. The reaction lever is linked to the chassis by a mounting bracket (6) which extends above the gear selector rod.</p> |
