<p>The angular divider subjects a workpiece to definite rotations about a vertical axis, being used to mount a piece undergoing successive machine tool operations. An annular base has edge notches for bolting to a machine table, locating and centring a rotatable hub upon which a support or piece-holder is secured. A rectangular notched crown wheel is incorporated on the support, the notches being engageable by a base mounted recoil sprung indexing bolt. The support mounting uses approximately half round section grooves locating ball bearings and the wheel projects above the base to be engaged by the bolt. The support may receive a key-actuated radially expandable mandrel, and the bolt may be retracted by means of a hand-lever with a locking screw maintaining retraction.</p> |
