PURPOSE:To enable to locate the piezoelectric element with greater e and g constants and to increase the transmission/reception efficiency, by constituting the probe with a laminated structure of a plurality of piezoelectric elements. CONSTITUTION:At the side opposite to the medium 4 of the transmission element 1, the packing 5 is provided for absorbing and attenuating the ultrasonic waves output from the back side of the element 1. The ultrasonic wave signal oscillated through the application of a given voltage between the terminals 10 and 11 is transmitted to the medium 4 via the reception element 2 and matching layer 3. When reflection is made on the reflection plane not shown, the reflection wave oscillates the reception element 2 via the matching layer 3. Thus, signal voltage is produced on the electrodes 6 and 7 at the both ends of the reception element 2 and output is made between the terminals 9 and 11. |
