PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned color-developing agent which is formed of polyvalent metallic salts of a specific condensation substance of phenolic formaldehyde and is exellent in color-developing performance, the photo-resisting and solvent- resisting properties of a developed-color image, the stability in maintenance, etc. CONSTITUTION:One mol of p-substituted phenol (ex. p-cyclohexylphenol) shown by an expression (R is alkyl of C1-12, cycloalkyl of C6-12, aralkyl of C7-12, aryl of C6-12, halogen) and about 0.8-2mol of formaldehyde are condensed under the presence of an alkali catalyst and formed into resor. Next, after the resor thus obtained is neutralized to pH7-4 approximately, phenol of three-functionality or more (ex. 4,4'-cyclohexylidenebisphenol) in times of about 0.4-2mol of the p- substituted phenol employed in the aforesaid process is added and is made to perform condensation reaction under the presence of an acid catalyst. The condensation substance thus obtained is made into the metallic salts to form the polyvalent metallic salts (preferably, the salts of Zn, Al, Mg), and this is cruched in humidity and thus the color-developing agent is obtained. |
