PURPOSE:To prevent the radial tire for heavy trucks and buses from extraordinary wear, by providing the auxiliary tread having the complex face slanting at the specified angle in the direction of side wall and the inclination increasing according as running comes near to its end with the shoulder part of the tread. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary tread 5 slanting in the range of 20-65 deg. against the axis RAL in parallel with the axle in the direction of the side wall 20 is provided with the main tread 4M of the tire. The auxiliary tread 5 forms the complex slant, at which contact point PC with the main tread part 4M, the inclination alpha1 is 25- 45 deg., and the inclination alpha2 from the middle to the last way of running is gradually increasing from 45-65 deg.. By this construction, the contacted face of the tire to the ground is increased, as the auxiliary tread 5 is contacted to the ground by the load imposed on the shoulder 7 while the tire is turning round, therefore, the transverse rigidity of the shoulder rib 7S is increased. Thus, the tire is prevented from extraordinary wear of the tread. |
