PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium having high workability at time of manufacture free from qualitative unnevenness and suitable to high-density recording of high resolution by preparing an alloy consisting of a prearranged quantity of copper, nickel and cobalt as essential components and forming it into a prearranged thickness. CONSTITUTION:A thin sheet having a thickness of less than one mm. more than 20mum is formed with an alloy under the following formula of copper, nickel and cobalt as essential components and part of cobalt substituted with iron. The formula is [CuxNiy(FeuCov)z]pMnqMro. But the sum of x, y, z in the formula is 100wt%, x 25-80wt%, y 10-40wt% and z 100-x-ywt%. In addition, the sum of u and v is 100wt%, v 0-50wt%. N indicates more than one kind of additive elements other than copper, nickel, iron, cobalt and manganese. The sum of p, q and r is 100wt%, q 0.05-10wt% and r 0-5wt%. Thus a recording medium is suitable to high-density recording of high resolution. |
