PURPOSE:To independently stop only the paper feed part when jam occurs in the paper feed part, and stop the paper feed part and transfer part when jam occurs in the transfer part, by providing jam detectors separately to the paper feed part and transfer part of a copying machine. CONSTITUTION:The jam detection signals from a paper feed jam detection part D1, a transfer and separating jam detector D2, and a fixed part jam detector D3 are inputted to a jam detecting and processing circuit JPD and after fixed operation, they are sent as control signals to an electrophotographic process driving circuit DRV1 and a paper feed driving circuit DRIV2. When jam occurs in a paper feed part 4, only the paper feed part 4 is stopped and when it occurs in a transfer part 13, the paper feed part 4 and the transfer part 13 are stopped. When jam occurs in a fixing part 8, all the drives are stopped. |
