Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for inputting letters through a sliding scheme using a pattern, capable of inputting letters only using three fingers. According to the present invention, the method for inputting letters through the sliding scheme using the pattern includes the steps of: displaying a plurality of circular pattern dots to input the letters into a display of a smart device and displaying letters corresponding to four directions of each circular pattern dot; allowing a user to touch the center of a circular pattern dot having a letter to be inputted among the circular pattern dots and to slide the circular pattern dot in one of the four directions that the letter to be inputted is located; and inputting the letter which is selected through sliding. |
