The present invention relates to an adjustable head protection preferably for use by children with certain types of disability. The protection is composed of a frame comprising two parts which can be connected to form a ring. The connection is preferably achieved by hook and loop tapes attached to fingers on both ends of the parts. The hook and loop finger connection permits infinite adjustment of the protection width, and the finger overlap produced on joining results in a shock-absorbing effect for the forehead and occiput where the joins are preferably located. A number of protectors for the top of the head which can be adjusted with pushbuttons and can be connected to additional protectors for the forehead and back of the neck are attached between the two frame parts. A chin belt keeps the protection in place. Chin belt and protectors for the top of the head are attached to the parts in cotton cord loops (8). Ventilation, which is satisfactory per se, was improved by a special perforation. The two frame parts and the protectors for the top of the head are made of a shock-absorbing material which comprises a crosslinked polyethylene polymer coated with stretchable plush. |
