PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the relative position of the armature winding and the field winding by detecting armature voltage and the field voltage by giving the multiphase balanced voltage of the known frequency to the armature winding before the starting the commutatorless motor. CONSTITUTION:In a commutatorless motor unit incorporating a power converter 2 and a motor 3 the multiphase balanced voltage lower than the rated voltage of the motor 3 of known frequency is impressed upon the armature winding 31 using the transformer 5. And the voltage generated in the field winding 32 by the rotary magnetic field inducted by the winding 31 is detected by the detector 10 together with the armature voltage detected by the detector 9 is added to the operation circuit 11. Thereby the voltage generating in the wiring 32 is the same to the frequency impressed on the winding 31 while the phase thereof is different depending on the relative position of the winding 31 and the winding 32 so that it is possible to detect the position of rotor without a mechanical position detector before the starting the motor. |
