<p>A controlled quantity of chemical is added to reject material from a wood pulp sepn. stage during the digestion, wasting and oxygen delignification of cellulosic material. The quantity of chemical is based on the flow and consistency of the reject material and is sufficient to effect delignification of the rejects. Pref. the consistency and flow of rejects from screen are magnetically measured and caustic, oxygen and steam are added in the required amts. The reject pulp is then further refined, reacted and returned to the main pump line. The quantity of rejects in the final pulp is minimised and the amt. of chemical used is more accurately determined.</p> |
