The position control for a servo brake valve has the brake control shaft (7) grooved and fitted with sprung O-rings (8). These locate against shoulders (10) in the control bore to provide a reaction force at different settings of the brake control. The O-rings are compressed by the shoulders and enable the control shaft to move to different settings. They provide a simple position control and reaction force. They replace costly and complex spring sensors and can be applied to most servo control valves.
