An oxygenate to olefins conversion reactor system comprising: a) a riser reactor having an inlet for feed, an inlet for catalyst and an outlet; b) a gas/solids separator having an inlet for the reactor effluent, an outlet for products, and an outlet for catalyst; and c) a conduit connecting the riser reactor outlet with the gas/solids separator inlet wherein the conduit has at least one injection point for injecting a cooling medium into the effluent.
