An identity card is about 50 millimetres square and includes a colour photograph of the head and shoulders of the subject, an X-ray photograph which is preferably of their teeth and jaws and a sheet bearing information such as the name, address and blood group of the subject, the photographs and sheet being encased in a transparent plastics cover to preserve the contents. In usual use the colour photograph serves to identify the subject to e.g. a dentist, who makes use of the X-ray photograph and information when considering treatment. If the subject is injured in an accident, the card may establish his identity. |
