<p>The walls are made of inner and outer skin panels held together by stiffeners and all prefabricated at a permanent or temporary factory. The panels are infilled with RC cast in situ columns and with insulating concrete which maintains an acoustic mass. The RC slab ceiling and floor slab are thin and are supported on load bearing beams the space between the slabs being filled with sound insulating incompressible polystyrene. All doors, windows and recesses are preformed so that frames are not needed and secondary work can procede simulataneouly with the main work.</p> |
