The greenhouse shading mechanism comprises a number of webs of shading cloth, folded and unfolded between adjacent trusses by a reciprocally pulled rope. A profiled travel rail (5) runs along each edge of each web (4), accommodating a series of runners (10) to which the web is secured. The web is held taut between the rails. The front runner on each side of each web, in the unfolding direction, is coupled to a haulage rope (17), which runs along one rail, then to the other one, and back along the latter in guides (16).
