A wallboard has a surface 3 which is formed by a board 2 the strength of which is enhanced by means of a stiffener 1 placed along the edge of the board. The load-bearing direction of the stiffener is perpendicular to the surface of the board and the board and the stiffener are mutually connected by means of a groove connection 4, the connection direction of which lies in the plane of the board and perpendicular to the edge of the board.
