A shaped insert (5) which is provided with depressions (7) for accommodating chocolate articles and has a flange (8), but no side walls, is placed on a bottom piece (1) with flaps (2, 3). In one operation, the flaps of the bottom piece are bent over the flange of the insert and the insert is then welded to the bottom piece at its depressions and at its flange, thus producing a hollow frame. Such a container results in considerable savings of material, allows economic assembly and moreover guarantees greater stability. <IMAGE>
