PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the extension of an optical transmission network without increasing cost.SOLUTION: A transmission device is a transmission device in which a first path and a second path being a communication path on a ring network for performing communication in a bi-direction are connected to a third path being a communication path on a network different from the first path and the second path. Also, the transmission device has a first branch part, a second branch part and a third branch part. The first branch part branches off signal light inputted from the first path to output the signal light to a first termination part for terminating the signal light and to a second output part for outputting the signal light to the second path. The second path branches off signal light inputted from the second path to output the signal light to a second termination part for terminating the signal light, to a first output part for outputting the signal light to the first path, and to a third output part for outputting the signal light to the third path. The third branch part branches off signal light inputted from the third path to output the signal light to a third termination part for terminating the signal light, and to the second output part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
