<p>Cream and other top coatings are applied to wafers by a machine, including an endless belt conveyor with a magazine for the wafers at one end and a cream applicator with hopper and roll in the middle. The wafers reach the applicator roll in a steady alignment and at a steady travelling speed, at least for a predetermined distance of twice their length. This reduces the amt. of defective prods. by uneven application of the creamy layer and saves cream because the cream thickness need not make any allowances of uneveness. If suction is used for the alignment, the cream surplus is removed from the belt.</p> |
