PURPOSE:To obtain a water level sensor for a washing and dehydrating machine which has stable quality level and a simple structure by forming a through hole in the center of the shaft of the washing and dehydrating machine and transmitting the pressure in the washing and dehydrating tub to a water level controlling pressure switch. CONSTITUTION:For example, through a serration 12, a rotor 9 is linked with a tubular shaft 13 so as to be fixed in the direction of rotation but slidable in the vertical axial direction, while a rotor 11 is secured to a blade shaft 15 having a through hole 14 in the shaft center. On the other hand, a water-pressure terminal 32 is watertightly as well as airtightly constituted by a case 33, a sealing member 34 and the like, and the pressure in the water-pressure terminal 32 is transmitted through a pressure transmitting tube 35 to a pressure switch 37 disposed in an operation panel 36. The water level control of the washing and dehydrating machine having such a constitution is performed as follows; the water supplied into a tank 3 with no hole passes through a notch hole 42 of a pulsator and enters the water- pressure terminal 32 through the through hole 14, and the pressure therein is readily detected by the pressure switch 37 through the pressure transmitting tube 35.
