The flexible plate for a vehicle track has the plate with a narrow section (12) for running on normal roads, and with sloping side sections (18,20) for increasing the support area over soft ground. The track element has several insert layers to adjust the plate flexibility. The plate is fitted using reinforced bolt holes and bolts. The side sections flex on normal roads and spread the track loading over soft ground. The inserts stiffen the plate without affecting the flexing. The sloping side sections cover the link bolts in the track.
