The attachment device is for carrying straps or ropes fastened to the outside of a thin walled container such as a packaging cover. An attachment element connected to a support section adjoining the interior of the cover wall projects through a break in the wall and the carrying strap is held on the attachment element. The support section (4) is held on an outer edge area (7) enclosing the break in the wall (1) and there is sealing material (9) in an inner ring zone surrounding the break between the wall (1) and the support section.
