Surface wave resonator with mechanical wave reflector - has structural elements divided into insulated partial region transverse to wave propagation direction

The resonator is particularly intended for telecommunications application as a narrow-band filter or a frequency setting element in oscillator circuit. Mechanical waves in the resonator are reflected by a suitable device. The resonator comprises structural elements with several conductive parts, extending each across the direction of wave propagation. In this direction several structural elements are spaced and insulated in an arrangement of one behind the other. At least one structural element (6a-6n) is divided across the wave propagation direction in several partial regions (6A-6N), which are mutually electrically insulated. Pref. the partial region lengths (as), measured across the wave propagation direction, are considerably smaller than the mechanical wavelengths which can be excited in fundamental mode, this length being typically half the above mentioned wavelength.
