<p>PURPOSE:To control the rolling reduction of the rolling rolls without necessity of manual works, by measuring the tension of each tension bar from the thermal expansion computed from detected temperatures at plural points of the tension bar of the mill provided with the hydraulic screw down device, and by correcting thus obtained tension depending on above-mentioned computed thermal expansion. CONSTITUTION:The temperature signals from the contact type temperature sensors 5 attached to plural measuring points of the tension bar 4 are converted by the A/D converter 6 to the digitaltemperature signals which are then inputted to the computer. The sample point temperature is taken in depending on the program preset in the computer, and the temperature distribution over all length of the tension bar 4 is approximated. Next, the thermal expansion of the tension bar 4 is computed from the sectional area S, length l, and the expansion coefficient K; and then, the average value of thermal expansions of four tension bars 4 is obtained. Meanwhile, the computer reads the value of the main load cell 15 according to the main program, and the average tension of four bars 4 is computed. Next, this tension is corrected by the above computed thermal expansion in order to detect the position of the roll 16, and then, the rolling reduction of the roll 16 is adjusted.</p> |
